A Fun Filled Family Weekend

This weekend was amazing. It was just one of those weekends where I felt so happy, so alive. I have not felt this happy in years. Going thru the heartaches left me feeling so blah for a while but this weekend, well the past month or so, has left me feeling so overjoyed. I love my little family. I love watching Dan play with Addison. I love the new mom feeling and documenting her first parade. I don't mind if its overboard because I have been thinking about this for the last two years. June of 2010 was the first pregnancy.

Saturday we did our morning routine, up and out early. We did a 40 minute hike, went to weight watchers, I was up a pound. I did not track last week, I exercised  more but ate too many points. I am not beating myself up about it though, this is a hard journey so I just have to keep working at it every day. Positive huh!

After the meeting we WENT TO THE ZOO! It was so great! The Seneca Park Zoo is legit 1.5 miles from my house. I can walk there. They also just completed their African Expansion which in my opinion they did a fantastic job. There are three lions and a cave with large plexiglass panes to see the animals up close and personal. The elephants have a new home and the detail they put into this is exquisite.

 Seriously could this 'butterfly' be any stinkin' cuter! We also got a kick out of watching the Sea Lions. They were hamming it up, the two girls were playing and swimming with each other and the big man was either laying belly up floating around or sunning himself. Typical man.

I found myself getting to each animal saying how much I enjoy them, turns out I just really like the zoo.

 The lions are new to the zoo and they were SO much fun to watch. The lion is young, you can tell by his mane, it will be fun to watch him grow! The lioness' were adorable, they were sitting out of the sun and were cuddling!

 They had a two tier safari bus located on the opposite side of the lions den, of course I had to check it out. Nothing too crazy up there, a lot of hot sweating kids running around but Hey at least I checked it out. This is me looking down from the top.

 The polar bear was moving all around as well. It seems like he lays around a lot because I have never seen him move much but he must have been enjoying the sun.

For as ugly of an animal as the rhino he was having a great day, running all around and then getting hot so he tried to find a cool hangout. He walked his big body over to the mud pit and circled it, stomped his foot and laid down. So cute!

 Talk about family, the orangoutangs were swinging all over, while we were watching the younger one started picking on the older one. He would grab his fur and the older one would swat at him, then he would grab his wrist and pull him around so the older one picked up hay and threw it at him. So much love!

The next day we went to the end of the street for the parade. Its so nice being so close to everything. The parade started at 3, we left the house at ten of and set up under the tree at the end of our street. So convenient! 

We have come to the conclusion that she loves to put her feet up, anytime she can find anything. Not that I mind, I just might eat those delicious toesies! 

The girl scouts gave her a lollipop and she wanted it so bad, how could I say no to a taste. 

Memorial Day was laid back, we had plans to go to the Webster Parade in the AM, go for a hike and then to our friends for a BBQ. We went the parade, took a 2 mile walk around the lake and had our own BBQ as the party was canceled. All in all it was a FANTASTIC weekend. We are so blessed.
